Аннотация:A systemic approach was adopted, as the investigation was in a natural setting in which many variables were beyond the control of the researcher. The results of this study raise questions about some common research approaches into higher education, and support the argument that educational research that is focussed on the natural setting is important for providing authenticity for the results of innovations in artificial environments. The innovations included concept mapping and collaborative learning to overcome common misconceptions, and assessment that supported understanding of scientific concepts. A holistic view of teaching and learning shows a complex process, subject to strong influences from within and outside a department. This monograph is based on a study that looked at the teaching and learning of genetics at the introductory level in the University of Adelaide to investigate student difficulties in understanding genetics, and to determine the effectiveness of introducing changes to promote understanding. Preliminary investigations established the parameters for designing, implementing, monitoring and modifying innovations which were based on current learning theories.

Страховой бизнес в современной России

Так называемые страховые брокеры начали распространение на российском рынке полисов (как правило, долгосрочного страхования жизни) иностранных страховщиков. Потенциальных страхователей привлекала возможность хранения и накапливания средств в надежных иностранных банках, или на счетах зарубежных страховщиков, как правило, зарегистрированных в оффшорах. Распространители страховок ссылались на инструкцию ЦБ №39, согласно которой каждый житель РФ вправе беспрепятственно перевести деньги на счет иностранного страховщика, в качестве уплаты страхового взноса. Кроме того, клиентам обещалась возможность возвращения денег, как в случае наступления страхового случая, так и просто при необходимости. Предлагалась также возможность отслеживания прибыли и возможность заработать – за каждого нового страхователя полагается комиссия, на основе так называемого Mul i- Level-Marke i g (MLM) – многоуровнего сетевого маркетинга. На сегодняшний день, на российском страховом рынке подобные услуги предлагают порядка 20 иностранных посредников, называющих себя страховыми брокерами или финансовыми консультантами.
