Аннотация:A multiple regression model was used to examine the association with poverty index, minority status, and school climate factor. There continues to be unexplained variance among schools' academic achievement. This study seeks to explain some of that variance by exploring the relationship between school climate and school achievement. Existing research brings attention to sociodemographic variables as predictors of academic achievement without taking school climate into consideration. This correlation study answers questions that address the variance between schools' academic achievement rating when controlling the sociodemographic school level variables. As the poverty index increased, school academic performance decreased (p . 05, r= -. 63), when minority status increased school academic performance decreased (p. 05,r = -. 13), and when school climate factor teachers' perceptions about "expectations of students" increased school academic performance also increased (p. 05, r=. 32). It was hypothesized that school climate could offset some of the devastating effects of poverty but controlled analysis revealed this was not the case.

Ученики переходят из Middle School после седьмого класса и учатся до 12 класса. Так как весь подростковый период протекает в период обучения в High School то естественно там и происходит формирование подростка как личности, а так же подросток узнает многое нехорошее в этом возрасте учась в High School. Хочу сразу сказать, что проблемой воспитания подростков не занимаются все учителя, существуют специальные педагоги следящие за поведением учащихся, а также педагоги специализирующиеся на воспитание подростков в классах, которые студенты должны посетить не менее одной четверти в году. Также в школах работают психологи которые помогают некоторым студентам в разрешении психологических проблем. Эти 3 группы педагогов сотрудничают с полицией, к которой они обращаются в необходимых случаях. Другие учителя не принимают участие в воспитании учеников, а в случае конфликтов обращаются к вышеуказанным педагогам. Школьная система контроля за дисциплиной очень хорошо отлажена и эффективно помогает снижать деликвентное поведение которое часто создается в американских школах, где число учащихся превосходит 2000 учеников.
