К январю 1998 года только Bay e works (купившая к тому времени LA ci y -одного из ведущих производителей этих устройств) смогла полностью удовлетворить требование операторов, доведя стоимость модема LA ci y Perso al (LCP) до 495 дол. При закупке крупных партий этих устройств(обычно измеряемых десятками и даже сотнями тысяч штук) они обходились еще дешевле - в 395 дол.Bay e works, опережает своего единственного конкурента, подразделение Mul imedia Group компании Mo orola (по практически единодушному мнению наблюдателей, сейчас среди производителей кабельных модемов есть два неоспоримых лидера - Bay e works и Mo orola MG), и по количеству продаж.Соперник Bay предпочитает оперировать цифрами заказов: такой-то оператор заказал 50 тыс. кабельных модемов, такой-то - 250 тыс., а все вместе - целый миллион. | |
