The book uses a practical application to complement understanding of the concept, analytical tools and techniques of spectral imaging of soils. This book fills this gap. Different spectral analysis techniques and tools are explained and the reader will find out what works or does not work and why. However, imaging spectroscopy has been used over smaller spatial scales and largely in temperate environments to map different properties of soils. Imaging spectroscopy has offered fresh opportunities for characterizing soils in a more rapid, cheaper, accurate and non-destructive manner over larger spatial scales. The methods and findings on investigation of the relationships between three forms of iron and reflectance spectra of tropical soils are presented.
